David is a professional musician with a solid background writing extensively for choirs and band.

He was Director of Music, Campbell College in Ireland for over 20 years. Following this lengthy tenure in 2016 he was appointed the college's first ever Composer in Residence. In that role has written and directed 2 full length musicals ('The Men behind the Glass' and 'Jack’s Journey ‘) as well as writing many new choral, band and orchestral works.

As well as having his own publishing companies, Opus 3 Music and Trio Music Publishing, David's choral and band music is also published by many major publishers in both the USA and the UK.
To date there are over a hundred published works in the catalogs of Alfred Publishing, Hal Leonard,  Shawnee Press, Hinshaw Music., Warner Bros. and Jubilate Music amongst others.

Much of David's band music is published by the Salvation Army's world renowned Music Departments in New York and London and sheet music and recordings from these sources are available through their commercial company World of Brass

The number of major publishers wordwide that have distributed David's music is an indicator of the quality of writing you can expect from Opus 3 and Trio Music Publishing.
